Moon Lane Education

ales On Moon Lane takes a special interest in supplying engaging and informative books to schools in and around our local area. Parents and teachers alike can choose from recommendations on the Southwark Reading List. We also have reading notes on popular children's books such as "Silverfin" by Charlie Higson and "The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents" by Terry Pratchett. Reading groups are a great way for children and their teachers to discover a new book together. Follow the links on the sidebar for some information on setting up your own reading groups. Tales On Moon Lane organise events for teachers to meet up and find out about new children's books. These events are also an opportunity to have a good chat with other teaching professionals! Below are more details of our specialist services for schools.

Recent publication highlights for staff meetings – We are very happy to come and enthuse your staff about new books during staff meetings. This service is free and is proving very popular so please book early.

Class trips to the shop for story telling – many classes have come and enjoyed these sessions this service is free but please book early to avoid disappointment.

Teacher’s reading groups – advice and support about starting your own teacher’s reading group at your school. A brilliant way to inform and enthuse your staff.

Specialist advice about books for key areas –ie: high boy interest/children with reading difficulties/ poetry etc.

Book fairs – we can come to you for any event with a range of books chosen in consultation with you. 15% of any sales will be donated to the school in books of your choice.

School library advice and stocking service – we are in a unique position to be able to offer specialist advice in stocking school libraries either from scratch or in addition to existing stock. We combine a passion for the books that children really love with a sound understanding of the needs of each year group and curriculum area to be able to create a vibrant and exciting collection of books that will genuinely motivate children’s reading. References from happy school librarians/literacy co ordinators available on request.

Author visits to schools - we can arrange for authors to visit schools during Book Week or on World Book Day.
